Wheelchair Accessible Battlesteads Hotel, Northern England
The Battlesteads Hotel,
a newly converted 17th Century farmhouse in the heart of the
Northumberland National Park, now offers disabled visitors a host of
accessible features.
The new ground-floor bedrooms have been designed for wheelchair access.
All bedrooms are en-suite with a shower and grab bars by the shower and
toilet. There is a shower seat, and the whole bathroom has non-slip
flooring. All switches are at the correct accessible level. One room
also has an induction loop system for hearing impaired visitors. The new
reception area has also been adapted for wheelchair users.
The hotel has a wood-paneled 70-seating restaurant with fine food, and
the hotel hosts large and small events and local activities, such as
regular Folk music nights.
