2. KENYA RESORT
Christel D, of the Netherlands, recently visited Kenya
with her husband and
found the Hotel Tropical Village in
Malindi perfect for wheelchair users.
According to Christel, the management built a wooden driveway to her room, and
even though there was one step, it wasn't a problem for her. "Every place else
at the resort was flat," said Christel. "We saw so many wild animals that it was
almost like a fairy tale, or as if we were in a discovery film. We saw
elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, cheetahs, lions, etc. In the middle of the
night, I heard the elephants drinking, which makes a lot of noise, and then when
I got out of bed and looked out the window, the elephant group was standing
there right in front of me. I’d go back to bed and then I’d still hear them,
such as the sound of the lion. It’s almost if it's not real at that moment. We
have been to two different areas, and it is very beautiful to see animals in
their normal life and habitat."
