1. BERLIN HOSTEL

Alexander Licht, of the BaxPax Hostel in Berlin, Germany wrote to tell us about their wheelchair accessible facilities. The 60-bed hostel, located in a renovated factory in the lively Kreuzberg section of the city, offers an accessible room and elevator. Other amenities include a self-catering kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Prepared meals can be taken in the kitchen or on the balcony. 2. LAS VEGAS CEILING HOISTS

Thanks to Brian Dore, of the UK, for sharing the news that two of Las Vegas’ top hotels, the Mirage and Treasure Island, have two accessible rooms complete with ceiling hoists in the bedroom and bathroom, as well as roll-in showers and bench seating. Brian is currently seeking a NYC hotel with a ceiling hoist. Send tips to Global Access and we’ll forward them to Brian.

3. BOURGES, FRANCE

The Bourges France Tourist Office and ARGOS Association are now offering a discovery tour especially designed for disabled visitors. The tourist office of Bourges, a small town in central France with pre-Roman origins, provides a tour of their historic town with the assistance of a local guide. Tours can include the 12th-century Saint Etienne Cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the nearby medieval quarter, the Museum of the Best Artisans of France, and the Marshlands of Bourges.
